Welcome to my family website
Why not use Facebook you may ask? I have a number of reasons, one of which is I am a control freak. I have complete control of what gets placed here, what pictures are posted, and who can take anything down. The "about us" link will take you to some of the family bios.

Family History
First of all I need to point out that we are related to anyone with the last name Coblio. My great grandfather, who we will call Nicholas Prime (more about him latter) entered the United States as Nicolo Campochiarro. He founded a contruction company and laid down a number of the sidewalks in the city of Geneva, New York. When building these sidewalks, they used a metal die in each section indicating the name of the construction company. Great grandfather thought that was a great way to advertise the company's business and the quality of the construction. Some of these sidwalks sections are still in existance, or were in 2017, the last time I was in Geneva. With a name like Campochoirro the die would be rather wide. In order to save money, because the dies were based on the number of letters, and save space, he shortened the name to Coblio, six letters rather than 12.
Nicolo Campochiarro aka Nicholas Coblio
I refer to him as Nicholas Prime as he was the first of the six people named Nicholas Coblio. Four of them were/are pilots which made for an interesting IFR training flight with dad's cousin Nicholas A. Coblio Jr (aka Buzzy) as the instructor, Nicholas A Coblio as the trainee and Nicholas A Coblio Jr as the passenger. The "A" in my name stands for Allen and in Buzzy's it was Adam. When dad filed the flight plan for tht flight I am sure someone at the FAA was shaking their head.
